Getting started

TL;DR
Pick an install path for your phones → confirm devices are online in the workstation → send your first instruction on the Chat page. Details: Choose platform and per-endpoint guides.
What you will finish
- Choose USB cable or WiFi install for your device type
- Finish PC + phone setup so the workstation shows devices online
- Run one simple task via natural language on Chat
- (Optional) Configure Local MCP for Cursor / WorkBuddy
Step 1: Pick an endpoint
Differences are mostly what to install and how to connect; Chat, workflows, and MCP are the same UI. See Choose platform if unsure.

Step 2: Install and confirm devices online
After install, open iDeviceFarm AI Workstation and go to Devices:
- USB cable (iOS USB edition / HarmonyOS USB edition): control center + workstation running, USB recognized
- WiFi (Android / iOS offline edition (WiFi)): phone Agent installed, same LAN as PC
In Chat, target devices should appear online (not offline).
Step 3: First task
- Open Chat → + New chat
- Pick an online device under Target devices
- Type a simple instruction, e.g. “Open Settings and wait 3 seconds”
- Click Send and watch the phone
If a workflow needs Start automation environment, finish phone-side setup in your endpoint doc (section 4).
Step 4: MCP (optional)
Copy the URL under Capabilities → Local MCP and follow Local MCP for Cursor or WorkBuddy.
FAQ
Device stays offline?
USB cable: USB cable, control center running, trust PC. WiFi: LAN and phone Agent. See Install.
Workstation won’t open?
On Windows, run MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe next to iDeviceFarm-AI-Agent.exe if needed.
